My government is getting things done – here’s just some of the changes we’ve made this week:
✅ We’re opening 159 new mental health centres in England, giving people in crisis dedicated mental health emergency care rather than a long wait in a busy A&E.
✅ Businesses bidding for government contracts will now be judged on their commitment to create high-quality British jobs, tackle local skills shortages, and support young people into apprenticeships and work placements.
✅ 16 and 17-year-olds can now keep their half-price railcard past their 18th birthday – giving thousands more young people cheaper travel.
This on top of the things we’ve announced already – like a £2 cap on bus fares, a tax cut on energy bills, and a 20% cut in business rates for pubs.
I know that there are no quick fixes – but we are doing things differently to make Britain better off and bring back hope.
