Elections for NEC, NPF, NCC
This year there is a bumper set of Internal Labour Party elections, with NEC, NCC, NPF and NWC elections all taking place. CLPs will be nominating candidates until June 26th. The NEC election will take place in the summer with one member one vote, elected through Single Transferrable Vote (STV). NCC and NPF elections will happen at Labour Party Conference in September as a delegate vote, and NWC election will happen at Women’s Conference in September as a delegate vote. Young Labour and Labour Students elections are also happening this year.

LI nomination process
Some 38 candidates are vying for a position on the NEC, with many more standing as representatives of minority groups and local government. The NEC is Labour’s ruling body, with responsibilities over the party’s strategic direction, enforcing party rules and overseeing policy development. The one-member-one-vote election will take place between July and September and will be organised by Labour centrally. LI has the role to decide on its nomination for NEC CLP representative and this will be organised by the LIEC with a one-member-one-vote election in June. The timetable is set out below:

Open until May 16th: Call for support for nomination from LI members (see candidate lists in the link below)
- 16th May: LIGC will request recommendations from the floor (including those received by email)
- 16th May – 31st May : Candidate statements will be requested from candidates and published on the LI website (along with a link to the national party candidate statements)
- 7th June : Voting links will be sent out by email to all LI members
- 7th June – 20th June : Voting is open
- 22nd June : Voting is announced to members and the central party.
